At the south end of the province of Saskatchewan is Grasslands National Park, the only national park in Canada to be dedicated to the preservation of prairie grassland habitat.  There are many plants and animals in this unique ecoregion that are found nowhere else in the country and with no trees to block the views, the landscape of Grasslands is wide open and perfect for observing native prairie animals, such as prairie dogs and bison.  Temperate grasslands are the most endangered ecosystem in the world.

Grasslands is also the darkest of the Dark Sky Preserves in all of Canada, making it a truly incredible place for stargazing and night sky photography.
